Beatrice Anne Hinds Terpo

Saturday, Sept, 19, 2015, our beautiful, loving Beatrice Anne Hinds Terpo, entered her Heavenly home. Born in Walker County, AL, on June 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edna Mosteller Hinds, Claude J. Hinds, and Mary T. Hinds. A long-time resident of Sylvan Springs, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband of nearly 58 years, her beloved Charles E. "Charlie" Terpo. Also predeceasing her were her brothers, Billy Raymond Hinds, Cmdr. Claude J. Hinds, Jr., (Retired), and her sister, Marian McIntosh. Bathed in the love of her beautiful heart were her adored children, her legacy, who now survive her: Charles E. "Chuck" Terpo, Jr., San Rafael, CA; Mary A. Murphy (Kenneth), Fayetteville, GA; Joseph D. Terpo (Amy), Douglasville, GA. Other survivors include her beautiful great-grandchild, Sarah Grace McCoy, Northport, NY; her brother, John W. Hinds, Spanish Fort, AL; sister, Claudette Brett (Tillis), Saraland, AL; sister-in-law, Angeline "Doll" Milling, Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law, Wynona Terpo, Birmingham, AL; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; lifelong best friend, Elsie Foster, Birmingham, AL, and devoted caregivers, including her Alacare Hospice team who cared for her these past ten months. Now with the Lord, Mother was a beautiful woman with a giving heart and spirit. It is impossible for words to adequately convey how wonderful she was! A graduate of West Blocton High School, she was the Salutatorian of her class. Following graduation and prior to her marriage, she was an excellent legal secretary. During World War II, she worked in the railroad yards in Washington State. An intelligent, talented lady, she devoted her life to her family and to her Lord. Her home was meticulous; her meals, delicious; her heart, overflowing with love and laughter, for she had a wonderful sense of humor. Our hearts are breaking, yet we rejoice in her life! What a wonderful, loving mother! What a true gift from God! We, her children, feel blessed beyond words that this wonderful miracle of love was, and will forever be, our Mother. Proverbs 31:10-31. A celebration of her life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Sylvan Springs on Wed., Sept. 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM with burial following at Sylvan Springs Cemetery.
