Bobbie T. Lunceford

Bobbie T. Lunceford, age 89, of Bessemer, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2025, surrounded by family. She resided in Cullman, Alabama for the last three and a half years with her youngest son and daughter-in-law. Bobbie had become very fond of Cullman during this time. Bobbie was retired from Jefferson County Board of Education as a lunchroom employee. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her mother, Minnie P. Thompson, and her father Lonnie Thompson Sr., husband; Glen Austin Lunceford, son; Billy Ray Thompson, and her daughters; Rebecca Lynn Lunceford and Roberta Gwen Lunceford, brothers; Lonnie Thompson Jr. and Phillip Joseph Thompson. Bobbie is survived by her sister, Vinnie Braswell (George), her children; daughter, Debbie Martin (Steve), sons; Bobby Lunceford, Phillip Lunceford and Greg Lunceford (Dana), step-children; Ronnie Lunceford and Marie Langley, five grandchildren; Angie Lunceford Fluker (Ricky), Kyle Lunceford (Whitney), Austin Lunceford (Blakeleigh), Sheena Johnson (Trent), Brandin Lunceford (Emily), eight great-grandchildren; Sabrina Killingsworth (Josh), Jax Lunceford, Stewart Lunceford, Waylon Lunceford, Madeline Lunceford, Roman Lunceford, Scarlett Johnson and Greyson Johnson, three great-great-grandchildren, Kennedy Foster, Oliver Killingsworth and Jacob Killingsworth, special sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, which she considered to be her sisters and brothers, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Prior to becoming unable due to health, Bobbie attended Voice of Life Ministries in Hueytown, Alabama. She studied her Bible and devotionals on a daily basis. Bobbie loved taking trips to the Mountains with her family. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Once when asked if she enjoyed playing games, she said yes, her favorite was playing Go-Fish with her great-grandchildren. Nothing could put a bigger smile on her face or bring her more joy than seeing one of her grandchildren, great- grandchildren or great-great grandchildren stop by for a visit. Bobbie will be remembered for her determination, faith and her love for the Lord and her family.(Not to mention her famous banana pudding, which was her family's favorite.) She will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM, at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral home, with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until service time, with her son Greg Lunceford, and Pastor Phillip Oliver officiating the service.
