Brenda Lindsey

Brenda Lindsey, a lifelong resident of Bluff Ridge, Alabama, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness. Born to Emmett and Fannie Bunn, Brenda lived a life full of warmth and generosity, always opening her heart and home to family, friends, and those in need. She was a true embodiment of love and hospitality, a "Nanny" to not only her beloved grandchildren but to so many others who knew her through her Church and community. Brenda was proudest of being a grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was the center of her world, and her heart was full of pride for each of them. She was a member of St. John Cassian Orthodox Chapel, where she was baptized in 2021, a moment that held deep significance for her. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a beloved member of the Church community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert Clarence Lindsey; her parents, Emmett and Fannie Bunn; and her brother, Larry Bunn. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Tracy Burnett; her grandson, Priest Justinian (Brian) Burnett and his wife Catherine (Lori); her granddaughter, Sarah Burnett; her grandson, Troy Burnett and his wife Kelsey; her great-grandchildren, Presley Thompson and R.C. Burnett; her brother, Michael Bunn and his wife Darnell; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sexton and Ann Bunn; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Brenda will be remembered for her boundless love, her unwavering kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bessemer Brown Service in Bessemer, followed by a Second Day After Repose Memorial. Her Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. John Cassian Orthodox Chapel, with burial to follow at Massey Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. John Cassian Orthodox Chapel in Brenda's memory. May her memory be eternal.
