Fannie Joyce Barnett Dill

Fannie Joyce Barnett Dill, lovingly known as Joyce, was born on December 7, 1935, and passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Martin “Dink” Dill; her son, Chris Franklin Dill; and her parents, Ellis Erskine Barnett and Arvie Bell Barnett Farrington. Joyce deeply loved her husband, who passed just eight months before her, and their enduring bond remained a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life. Joyce is survived by her devoted daughters, Lori Holmes (William) and Terri Middlebrooks, along with a cherished legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who meant the world to her. Lori’s children include Melissa Holmes, Joel Holmes, and Allison Stanaland (Cory), and their children, Harris and Betsy. Terri’s children include Jessica Hogue (Michael), and their children, Tripp, Noah, and Livi; Claire DeJohn (Tony), and their children, Wylder, Sawyer, and Selah; and Madeline Reed (Stephen), and their children, Hadley, Charlotte, and Ruby. Joyce had a way of making the most out of every day. She loved being outside in the sunshine, whether she was near the water, swimming, or simply soaking it all in. She never missed a chance to dance, enjoyed shopping trips, and could turn just about anything into a fun game. More than anything, she loved to laugh, and her warm, infectious laugh was unforgettable, bringing smiles and lifting the spirits of everyone around her. A devoted member of The Baptist Church of McAdory, Joyce’s strong faith was the foundation of her life. It guided her daily and was reflected in the kindness and love she shared so freely. Her greatest happiness came from her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her love will continue to live on through each of them. Joyce will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her gentle heart, and the way she made life brighter for everyone she encountered. Funeral service for Joyce will be Monday, April 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Bro. Bill McCall will be officiating the service.
