Andrew O. Huggins

March 25, 1956 - March 30, 2022

Andrew "Andy" Huggins, 66, of Bucksville (McCalla) AL passed away surrounded by family on March 30, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Teresa S. Huggins; three daughters, Christina Huggins Vanderford (Matt), Ashlyn Huggins Kelley (Tyler), and Bethany Huggins; two grandsons, Hunner Vanderford and Gunner Vanderford; his brothers, John C. Huggins (Kathy), and Jimmy Huggins (Tracy); his sister, Dr. Cathy Alexander, M.D. (James) and multiple nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Silas Huggins (dad) and Verna Hutson Huggins (mom); grandparents, Sarah Dozier Hutson and John Washington Hutson. Andy was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw. In his short 2 year retirement from BE&K (KBR) where Andy gave 37 1/2 years. He enjoyed gifting family/friends with his hand made crafts of wood, metal and epoxy. Traveling to see his grandsons play baseball or football, attending Alabama Football games/tailgating with family and friends, going fishing with family, or peddling with his garden and chickens, playing dominos on the weekends. The family would like to thank all Doctors, Nurses, and staff of the CCU unit at UAB that helped take care of Andy during his illness. Funeral service will be Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with burial following at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the church.
