Mary Alice Rhea, 93, of Greenwood-Bessemer, AL passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019. She was a member of the Baptist Church at McAdory. Mary worked as a reporter for the Credit Bureau of Bessemer on several occasions. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Mary was a loving wife, devoted mother and a proud grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Norman Rhea; her grandson, Jared Rhea; her siblings, James Hardy Edwards, Maxwell Edwards, Estelle Lee Dill and Ralph Edwards. Mary is survived by her son, Alan (Elizabeth) Rhea; her sister, Carolyn Hill and several nieces, nephews and extended loving family. Chapel service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 – 2 p.m. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Bro. James Parker will be officiating.
