Brenda Joyce Perkins

Brenda Joyce Perkins (77) of McCalla, Alabama went home to be with Jesus of February 13, 2026. Brenda was born on October 30th, 1948, in Talladega, Alabama. She will be celebrated and honored on February 17th, 2026 1:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Phillip Oliver of Voice of Life Ministries and Pastor Terry Wheat of Lifepoint will be officiating the service. The family would like to thank their church families and friends for their love and support during this time. Brenda Joyce Perkins was a woman of unwavering faith, deep love, and steadfast devotion to her family and her calling as a servant of God. As a foundational member and pillar of Voice of Life Ministries, Brenda’s life was a testimony of service, compassion, and spiritual strength and her prayers were a wellspring of grace. Her dedication helped lay the groundwork for a ministry that touched many lives, and her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come. Second only to her Lord and Savior, Brenda deeply loved her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to Jimmy Perkins, standing faithfully by his side through life’s joys and challenges. She was a nurturing and proud mother to Cheryl (Phillip) Oliver, Alecia Perkins, Annette (Bo) Seagrist, and Cindy (Casey) Gedgoudas, instilling in them the values of faith, kindness, and perseverance. Her love extended deeply to her brothers James (Deb) Wheat, Rickey (Pam) Wheat, and Terry (Jennifer) Wheat. She also loved and cherished her grandchildren John, Leah, Paul, Able, Izzy, Gabby, and many extended family members—all of whom she held close in heart throughout her life. Brenda’s legacy is one of grace, strength, and quiet leadership. She had a servant’s heart, always ready with a word of encouragement, a listening ear, or a helping hand. Her warmth, wisdom, and steadfast belief in God shaped the lives of those around her. Brenda was an incredible prayer warrior. Her prayers covered countless lives, her faith stood firm in every season, and her love for God was evident in everything she did. Heaven heard her cries, and many of us are walking in victory because she knew the battle was fought on her knees. I cannot thank her enough for being a vessel of hope, strength, and intercession. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the ministry she helped build and in the family she so dearly loved. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a precious lasting gift to all who knew her. Thank you, momma, we love you.
